POSTECH members shall respect each other’s personalities and honor and not unfairly discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race, nationality, position, religion, sexual orientation, marriage, refugee and asylum seekers, pregnancy and maternity, political ideology, etc.
There is a center for students with disabilities at POSTECH. It is stipulated in the Regulations on Support for Students with Disabilities.
In the center for students with disabilities, POSTECH has schemes for people with disabilities: Support plan for teaching and learning for disabled students, construction status and planning of convenience facilities for the disabled, and the living support plan for the disabled including scholarship support. Also, POSTECH has accommodations for people with disabilities.
POSTECH has a health service center. This center provides health care services and enhances the health of POSTECH members.
Also, POSTECH supports comprehensive medical checkups for physical healthcare services for faculty and staff. It provides 300,000 won (210 USD) per person to receive medical checkups once a year.
Finally, all students (undergraduate and graduate) can sign up for the student medical co-op plan. All members are eligible for up to a maximum of half a million KRW in reimbursement for 80% of their medical care costs.
POSTECH has a family lounge for family with infants and mothers-to-be. There are many facilities: Lactation Room (Sofa, Breast Pumping Machine, Nursing Pillow, Baby bed, Table), Maternity Lounge (Recliner chairs, Leg Massage Machine).
Also, POSTECH provides sexual and reproductive education services to students, staff, and faculty. The POSTECH Human Rights Center provides annual online education on gender equality. In accordance with Article 5 of the Sexual Violence Prevention and Victim Protection Act, all POSTECH members must complete training on the prevention of sexual harassment, sexual violence, sex trafficking, and domestic violence once a year.
The training courses are available on the POSTECH Learning Management System (PLMS). Members can log in and access the courses at PLMS (https://plms.postech.ac.kr/).
POSTECH has a Counseling Center. The Counseling Center is an independent institution devoted to student counseling and research on student issues.Counseling provides people with the opportunity to share their views, be heard, and gain new perspectives on their situations and experiences. Professional counseling is a safe and confidential collaboration between qualified counselors and clients to promote mental health and well-being, enhance self-understanding, and resolve identified concerns.
