A variety of festivals are held throughout the year including the POSTECH & KAIST Students Grand Festival.

In the spring semester, the Student Union holds the annual “Sunrise Festival.” The university actively supports these events so that students can release the stress of studying and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere with other university students.

In addition, the POSTECH & KAIST Students Grand Festival, held in September each year, serves as a stage for friendly competition between the two universities. Athletic competitions are held in soccer, basketball and baseball. Scientific competitions include computer hacking, StarCraft game playing, science trivia, artificial intelligence (AI) programming and more. POSTECH and KAIST take turns hosting the festival each year, which has drawn national attention from the media as a big match between the two leading domestic universities in science and technology.
