Prof. Taihyun Chang at Dept. of Chemistry Earned Fellowship in the APS
Prof. Taihyun Chang has been elected as a Fellow by the American Physical Society (APS). Fellowship in the American Physical Society is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the entire membership. Election to APS Fellowship is a recognition by peers of outstanding contributions to physics. The fellowship citation will be published in the March 2011 issue of APS News and on the Fellowship page of the APS website.
Prof. Chang performed in previously impossible detailed separations and characterizations of polymers using various techniques such as High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) separation, and through these applications he solved several problems about polymer science. In particular, Prof. Chang developed new characterization methods for block copolymer behaviors. He attracted much attention with his research about the self-assembled structures of controlled block copolymers at the molecular level and rheological characterization of non-linear polymers using comprehensive fractionation.
