Member of Academy of Sciences: France, Netherlands, USA, Sweden, Russia, Norway . Honorary Fellow of the Royal society . 1956∽ Professor at the College de France Professor Jean-Pierre Serre has made fundamental contributions to modern mathematics. He received a Fields medal in 1954 at the age of 27, and received the first Abel Prize in 2003.
